TOPIC: KNOWING THE BIBLE WITHOUT KNOWING CHRIST

PREPARATORY QUESTION
Has your knowledge of Scripture led you closer to Christ, or merely made you more informed?
The Pharisees were not ignorant of the Bible. They studied it, memorized it, taught it, and defended it. If anyone had passed a Bible knowledge examination, they would have excelled. Yet Jesus confronted them with a shocking truth: they knew the Scriptures but rejected the Savior the Scriptures proclaimed.
Knowledge alone does not produce spiritual life.
It is possible to master biblical facts while your heart remains untouched. You can explain doctrine, win theological debates, quote entire chapters, and still live far from God. The Bible was never given merely to increase information. It was given to lead sinners to Christ and to shape them into His likeness.
This is one of the greatest deceptions of Phariseeism. It mistakes familiarity with God's Word for fellowship with God's Son. It celebrates intellectual growth while neglecting spiritual transformation.
Ask yourself an uncomfortable question: Has your Bible reading made you more humble, more obedient, more loving, and more dependent on Christ? If not, your knowledge may be feeding your pride instead of your faith.
Every page of Scripture points to Jesus. Every command exposes our need for Him. Every promise finds its fulfillment in Him. If your study ends with greater admiration for yourself instead of deeper worship of Christ, you have missed the purpose of God's Word.
The Pharisees possessed the scrolls but missed the Savior. Do not repeat their tragedy.

PRAYER
Father, keep me from the pride of empty knowledge. Open my eyes to see Christ on every page of Your Word. Give me a heart that not only understands the Scriptures but also obeys them. Let Your truth transform my character, deepen my love for Jesus, and shape every part of my life. Protect me from becoming informed without being transformed. In Jesus' name, Amen.
