TOPIC: THE HARVEST AWAITS
THEME SCRIPTURE: '...The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves." —Luke 10:2-3
PREPARATORY QUESTION
Where is God calling you to labor in His harvest today?
When Jesus sent out the seventy, He didn't paint a comfortable picture. He described lambs among wolves—a mission marked by urgency, vulnerability, and purpose. The harvest was ready, but the laborers were few.
That imbalance remains today. Statistics reveal that nearly 3 billion people have little to no access to the gospel. Children grow up never hearing the name of Jesus. Entire villages exist without a single witness. The fields are white, yet we often walk past them distracted by lesser things.
Jesus gave clear instructions: "Go now." Not later. Not when it's convenient. Not when you've accumulated enough resources or confidence. Now. Travel light, stay focused, and remember that the work is dangerous but necessary.
The urgency in His words is unmistakable because the harvest doesn't wait. Souls are eternal. Every day without the gospel is a day of lost opportunity. The sick need healing. The oppressed need deliverance. The lost need a Savior.
But notice what Jesus prioritizes before the sending: prayer for more workers. This isn't passive waiting—it's active partnership with the Lord of the harvest. When we pray for laborers, we align our hearts with God's mission. We acknowledge that this is His work, and we invite Him to raise up those who will go.
Beloved, you may not be called to a foreign field. Your harvest may be your workplace, your neighborhood, or your family. But the call remains: see the fields, pray for workers, and be ready to go.

Raise up laborers from every corner of Your church—send them to every tribe, tongue, and nation. Use my hands, my voice, and my resources to bring in the harvest. Give me holy urgency without fear, and let me not waste another day. Your harvest awaits. Send me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
