TOPIC: TRUSTING AND WAITING
THEME SCRIPTURE: “Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” — Psalm 27:14
PREPARATORY QUESTION
What are you tempted to do because you are tired of waiting on God?
Fear often creates pressure to act before God’s time. When uncertainty surrounds us, we may feel compelled to force an outcome, make a hasty decision, or take matters into our own hands. David faced that pressure, but he chose a better path.
David was surrounded by enemies and lived under the threat of death, yet he declared, “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” (Psalm 27:1). His confidence was not in his circumstances but in God.
There came a moment when David’s men encouraged him to kill Saul. Human reasoning could have justified it. Saul was his enemy, David had already been anointed king, and the opportunity appeared perfect. Yet David refused to manufacture what God had promised to accomplish.
David understood a vital truth: God’s promise does not require human manipulation to become reality.
His waiting was not passive. While waiting, David learned courage, restraint, dependence, discernment, and trust. Eventually, God fulfilled His word. David became king, but not by violating God’s timing.
Your waiting season may be uncomfortable, but it is not necessarily wasted. God may be developing something in you that will be essential for what He is preparing to entrust to you.
Do not allow fear to make decisions that faith should make. Do not let impatience push you into a door God has not opened. If God has spoken, trust Him enough to wait.

PRAYER
