TOPIC: BEARING FRUIT UNTO GOD
THEME SCRIPTURE: "So that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God." — Colossians 1:10 (NIV)
PREPARATORY QUESTION
Is your faith producing visible evidence of Christ's life within me?
Apostle Paul prayed that the believers in Colosse would bear fruit in every good work. He understood that genuine spiritual growth is not measured only by what believers know, but by what their lives produce.
Fruit is the evidence of life. A healthy tree does not struggle to produce fruit; it bears fruit because it is connected to a living source. In the same way, a believer who is rooted in Christ will increasingly produce actions and attitudes that reflect Him.
Jesus taught this principle when He said:
"This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples." — John 15:8 (NIV)
Bearing fruit is not about trying to impress God or people through activity. It is the natural outcome of a life surrendered to the Holy Spirit. Good works are not the means by which we earn God's love; they are the evidence that His love has transformed us.
The fruit God desires is expressed through lives that bring His goodness into the world. It is seen in acts of kindness, faithfulness in responsibilities, compassion toward others, generosity, forgiveness, integrity, and service. These works reveal the character of Christ being formed within us.
Paul also reminds us that fruit should be produced in "every good work." God is interested in every area of our lives. Our faith should influence how we speak, work, relate to others, handle challenges, and respond to opportunities to serve. There is no separation between spiritual life and everyday life.
A restored believer does not only seek encounters with God; they become a vessel through which God's goodness reaches others. Revival that does not produce transformation becomes only an experience, but revival that produces fruit becomes a testimony.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, make my life fruitful for Your glory. Help me remain connected to Christ so that my thoughts, words, and actions reflect His character. Remove anything that hinders spiritual growth and produce in me the fruit that honors You. Use my life as an instrument of Your goodness, love, and grace to others. May everything I do point people back to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
