PREPARATORY QUESTION
Are you allowing God to prepare your character before pursuing the assignment He has for you?
God's preparation often takes longer than we expect because He is more concerned with who we are becoming than with what we accomplish. Moses' life illustrates that God's greatest work in us usually precedes His greatest work through us.
For forty years, Moses was trained in Egypt as a prince, equipped with education, influence, and leadership. Believing he was ready to deliver his people, he acted in his own strength and timing. The result was failure, exile, and forty years in the wilderness.
What looked like a detour was actually God's classroom. As Moses shepherded sheep through the desert, God was quietly reshaping his heart. Confidence in his own ability gave way to humility and dependence on God. The wilderness was not wasted time; it was preparation for leading an entire nation through that same terrain.
When God finally called Moses, he no longer trusted himself. He questioned his ability, remembered his past failure, and felt inadequate for the task. Ironically, this was the very condition that made him ready. God assured Moses that the success of the mission would not depend on human ability but on divine presence: "I will be with you."
Many of us become discouraged when God seems to delay His promises. Yet His delays are often seasons of preparation, not rejection. He is developing the character, wisdom, and dependence that will sustain the calling He has placed on our lives.
Trust God's timing. He knows when you are ready, and He will never send you without also supplying the grace you need.

PRAYER
Father, thank You for caring more about my character than my comfort. Help me to trust Your timing and embrace every season of preparation. Remove self-reliance from my heart and teach me to depend fully on Your presence. When You call me, give me the faith to obey, knowing that You will equip me for everything You ask me to do. In Jesus' precious name, Amen.
