TOPIC: I AM BORN OF GOD
THEME SCRIPTURE: "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever." —1 Peter 1:23
PREPARATORY QUESTION
Am I living from the reality of my new birth in Christ, or am I still being defined by my old nature?
Every person’s beginning tells a story, but for the believer, the most important beginning is not physical birth—it is spiritual birth. When we come to Christ, God gives us a new identity and a new source of life. We are no longer defined only by our past, our failures, or our natural circumstances. We have been born of God.
Peter writes, “For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God” (1 Peter 1:23). Spiritual birth comes from God’s Word, which is alive and powerful. Unlike things that fade and change, what God creates in us has eternal value and purpose.
Being born of God means we have received a new nature. We are called to leave behind patterns that belong to our former life and embrace the character of our Heavenly Father. A child carries the nature and identity of their parent; likewise, those born of God are called to reflect His love, holiness, and truth.
This new birth also gives us hope. Our circumstances may change, people may disappoint us, and earthly achievements may pass away, but the life God gives remains secure. We are connected to an eternal source.
A Christian who understands they are born of God does not live as a victim of the past but as a person shaped by God’s future. Our identity is not found in where we started but in what God has made us through Christ.

PRAYER
Father, thank You for giving me new life through Christ. Help me embrace my identity as one who is born of You. May Your Word continue to transform me and may my life reflect Your nature and purpose. In Jesus' precious name, Amen.
