TOPIC: HOPE FOR THE SICK AND AFFLICTED
THEME SCRIPTURE: "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed". —Isaiah 53:5
PREPARATORY QUESTION:
Do you believe Christ’s power still touches your pain today?
Suffering has a way of narrowing vision. Pain convinces the body that it is the final authority. But Scripture refuses that conclusion. “By His wounds we are healed” is not poetic language—it is a declaration of Christ’s authority over human affliction.
Jesus never treated sickness as trivial, but neither did He treat it as ultimate. Wherever He went, the sick were not ignored; they were confronted with power. The gospel does not ask you to deny your condition—it asks you not to enthrone it.
Some have lived so long under sickness that it has become identity. That must be rejected. You are not your diagnosis. You are not your limitation.
But faith is not denial. It is defiance against hopelessness. Even when healing is delayed, despair is not allowed to reign.
Precious one, you are a life under the authority of Christ. This is why the Lord said, "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17-18). Glory to God!

PRAYER
