TOPIC: WHY NOT YOU?
THEME SCRIPTURE: "Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me!'" — Isaiah 6:8 (NIV)
PREPARATORY QUESTION
When God looks for someone willing to serve Him, would your life qualify as an answer?
Isaiah's response to God was immediate and unconditional.
He did not ask where he would go.
He did not ask how difficult the assignment would be.
He did not ask what it would cost.
He simply said, "Here am I. Send me."
Many believers admire that response but hesitate to imitate it.
We are often willing to obey God as long as the assignment is comfortable, convenient, and predictable. But genuine surrender does not come with conditions. It places every area of life at God's disposal.
God is still asking the same question today.
Who will go?
Who will speak?
Who will serve?
Who will make Christ known?
The issue is rarely God's willingness to use people. The issue is people's willingness to be used.
Moses focused on his inadequacies.
Jeremiah focused on his youth.
Gideon focused on his weakness.
Many Christians focus on their limitations as well. They feel unqualified, inexperienced, or incapable.
Yet throughout Scripture, God repeatedly used ordinary people who made themselves available to Him.
Availability often matters more than ability.
God can strengthen weakness, supply wisdom, and provide opportunities. What He does not force is willingness.
The greatest obstacle to usefulness in God's kingdom is often not lack of talent but lack of surrender.
Isaiah understood something vital. Before God uses a person publicly, He deals with that person privately. Isaiah first encountered God's holiness, acknowledged his sin, received God's cleansing, and then responded to God's call.
Service flows from surrender.
If Christ is truly Lord, then every part of your life belongs to Him—your time, gifts, resources, ambitions, relationships, and future.

Stop asking whether God can use you.
Ask whether you are available.
The question has never been, "Why you?"
The better question is, "Why not you?"

PRAYER
Father, thank You for using ordinary people to accomplish Your purposes. Forgive me for the excuses and fears that have limited my obedience. I surrender every area of my life to You. Make me available for whatever You desire. Give me the faith to say, "Here am I. Send me." In Jesus' name, Amen.
