TOPIC: BE READY WITH AN ANSWER
THEME SCRIPTURE: "But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you." — 1 Peter 3:15
PREPARATORY QUESTION
If someone asked you today how to be saved, could you explain the gospel clearly from Scripture?
Many Christians want to share their faith but hesitate because they feel unprepared. They fear being asked questions they cannot answer. As a result, opportunities come and go while they remain silent.
The solution is not greater confidence in yourself. The solution is greater confidence in God's Word.
Peter instructed believers to be ready at all times to explain the reason for their hope. Readiness does not happen by accident. It requires deliberate preparation. A soldier trains before battle. An athlete prepares before competition. Likewise, a believer must study before opportunities arise.
Too many Christians survive on occasional Bible reading while neglecting serious study. Then when questions come about salvation, suffering, heaven, sin, or the uniqueness of Christ, they struggle to respond.
You do not need to know everything. No believer does. But you should know the essentials. Can you explain who Jesus is? Can you explain why He died? Can you explain repentance, faith, grace, and salvation? Can you show someone these truths from Scripture?
A Bible that stays closed during the week will rarely open effectively during evangelistic conversations.
The people around you are searching for answers. Many have been disappointed by false promises, empty philosophies, and self-centered spirituality. They need truth, not opinions. God's Word provides that truth.
Study Scripture faithfully. Memorize key passages. Learn the gospel thoroughly. Then when God opens a door, you will be ready to walk through it.
Key Takeaway
A believer who knows God's Word is better equipped to lead others to Christ when opportunities arise.
Beloved, preparation today creates opportunities for impact tomorrow. If you truly want to work for the kingdom, then study to show yourself approved. Be consistent each day with your devotional each morning so God can use it to prepare an answer in your hands for someone.
God bless you more.
