TOPIC: YOUR WORD GIVES ME LIFE
THEME SCRIPTURE: — “I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have given me life.” — Psalm 119:93
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS
What am I relying on for true life and renewal right now?
The psalmist makes a strong commitment: “I will never forget.” This is not casual remembrance—it is intentional preservation. What he has encountered in God’s Word is too vital to let slip from his life.
His reason is clear: “by them you have given me life.” God’s Word is not merely instructive or comforting—it is life-giving. It revives what is weary, restores what is broken, and sustains what would otherwise fade.
This speaks to a deeper reality: spiritual life is not self-generated. It is received through God’s ongoing revelation and presence through His Word. The psalmist recognizes that what he has become spiritually is directly connected to what God has spoken.
A. W. Tozer’s insight brings this into sharper focus: God is not silent within Scripture. He continues to speak through it. That means the life we receive from God’s Word is not a past experience alone, but a continuing reality. Each encounter with Scripture is an encounter with the living voice that sustains life itself.
Forgetting, then, is not neutral. It would mean disconnecting from the very source that has given him life. This is why remembrance becomes a discipline of devotion, not just memory.
The psalmist’s conviction invites us to see Scripture not as supplemental, but essential. It is not an accessory to life—it is part of how God continually sustains it.
Know This
“God’s Word is life-giving, and remembering it keeps you connected to the source of true spiritual vitality.”
So, beloved, each day of you have life, go for the Word. For it would be life to you if you find it and medicine to all your flesh.

PRAYER
Lord, thank You that Your Word gives life. Help me not to forget what You have spoken or drift from what sustains me. Keep me connected to You through Scripture, and continually renew my strength through Your truth. Let Your Word remain active in my heart, bringing life and stability to my soul.
