TOPIC: RELEASED FROM THE LAW, BOUND TO CHRIST
THEME SCRIPTURE: "Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God."— Romans 7:4
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS
Am I serving God out of love and union with Christ, or merely out of duty, fear, and religious obligation?
These things says the Lord Jesus Christ, the Bridegroom of His Church, who died and rose again that His people might belong to Him forever.
“I know your works”, says the Bridegrom. "I know your commitment to My service. I know your attendance, your giving, your prayers, your ministry, and your desire to honor My name. I see your efforts to live uprightly in a crooked generation. I see your hunger to please Me, and these things are not hidden from My sight."
“Nevertheless, I have this against many of you”, He says. You serve Him as though you were still under bondagerather than in relationship. You labor for acceptance in the house of God instead of “from acceptance”. You strive to be blessed or earn what has already been freely given to you by the Father. You measure your standing before Him by your performance rather than by His finished work.
Many of you have exchanged intimacy for activity. You have become occupied with serving Him while neglecting communion with God. Have you forgotten that you are not merely servants in His house? You are united with Christ. You belong to the Most High.
Remember therefore that through Jesus’ death, you died to the law as a means of establishing righteousness before God.You are no longer trying to earn favor through your own efforts. You have been joined to Him, the risen Christ, so that your life may produce fruit through the power of that relationship.
The fruit God seeks is not manufactured by human determination. It grows from abiding in Him. Just as a branch bears fruit by remaining connected to the vine, so you will bear fruit by remaining connected to Christ.
Repent of striving without abiding. Turn away from performance-driven spirituality. Turn away from the burden of self-effort. Return to the joy of walking with your Lord intimately. Spend time in His presence. Listen to His voice. Delight yourself in His love.
Serve the Lord, not because you fear He would reject you, but because you know you are accepted. Obey your King, not to gain My affection, but because you already possess it.
To the one who overcomes, the Lord will grant a fruitful life. His service will no longer be a burden but a delight. He shall experience the freedom of the Spirit, the joy of fellowship with Me, and the satisfaction of bearing fruit that remains. His life shall testify that apart from Christ he can do nothing, but with Him all things are possible. Glory to God!
Precious one, meditate on these things. Give yourself wholly unto them. Then will your profiting appear unto all men.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You that through Jesus Christ I have been set free from the impossible burden of earning righteousness through my own efforts. Thank You for joining me to Christ and making me accepted in Him. Forgive me for the times I have relied on performance rather than grace, activity rather than intimacy, and self-effort rather than the power of Your Spirit. Teach me to abide in Christ daily and to draw my strength, joy, and purpose from Him. Help me to serve You from a heart overflowing with gratitude and love. Let my life bear fruit that honors You and blesses others. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
