TOPIC: BEYOND CHEAP GRACE
THEME SCRIPTURE: "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?" — Romans 6:1–2
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS
Have you mistaken God's grace for permission to remain unchanged, or you are allowing His grace to transform the way you live?
To all those who believe in Christ and have received the gift of being declared "not guilty" by faith: "Shall we continue to sin so that grace may abound?"
These things says the Lord Jesus Christ through His word. The one who loved us and gave Himself for us.
“I know your works”, says the Lord. Yeah, God says He knows our works. He knows our faith in His finished work which we hold dear. He also knows our confidence that salvation is not earned by human effort but received through grace. He knows our desire to avoid legalism and our continuous refusal to trust in rules and rituals for God's acceptance. “These things are commendable”, the Lord says.
However, He has this against some of us: having received grace, you have neglected holiness. You rejoice in forgiveness but resist transformation. You celebrate justification but give little attention to your sanctification. Some have become comfortable with sins they once mourned over. Others excuse spiritual complacency under the banner of grace. Still others have reduced Christianity to moral instruction without the necessity of repentance, faith, and a living relationship with God.
Have you forgotten that the grace which forgives is also the grace that changes? Did He save us merely to pardon our sins, or also to make us holy?
Therefore remember who you are in Him, precious one. You died with Christ and were raised to walk in newness of life. Do not return to the chains from which you have been delivered. Reject the burden of legalism, which places rules above relationship. Reject moralism, which seeks outward reform without inward renewal. Reject cheap grace, which seeks the benefits of salvation without the obedience of discipleship.
Beloved, let us repent and return to the joyful pursuit of holiness through the power of the Holy Spirit. Let grace teach you to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts. Let faith produce obedience. Let gratitude for the cross inspire a life worthy of the gospel.
To the one who overcomes, to such will God grant the joy of intimate fellowship. Such a person shall experience the freedom that comes from true holiness, the assurance of His presence, and the reward prepared for those who persevere in faith and obedience. His grace will not only pardon him but also perfect him.
Beloved, if you have an ear to hear, hear what the Spirit is saying to you, and to His people.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for the immeasurable gift of justification through faith in Jesus Christ. Thank You that Your grace does not only forgive my sins but also empowers me to live a new life. Forgive me for every way I have treated grace lightly, trusted in human effort, or settled for outward morality without true heart transformation.
Help me to walk in holiness without falling into legalism, and to rest in Your grace without becoming complacent toward sin. Through the power of Your Holy Spirit, teach me to love what You love and to hate what dishonors You. Make me a faithful disciple whose life reflects the reality of the gospel. Your grace will continue its work in me until Christ is fully formed in me. In Jesus' precious name, Amen.
