TOPIC: WALKING IN WISDOM
THEME SCRIPTURE: "Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise." — Ephesians 5:15
PREPARATORY QUESTION
Why is wisdom necessary for everyday life and spiritual growth?
Beloved, wisdom is more than knowledge. A person may know many things yet still make careless decisions. Wisdom is the ability to apply truth correctly, discern wisely, and live with understanding.
Scripture instructs us to live carefully because our decisions shape the direction of our lives.
Many struggles are not caused by lack of opportunity alone, but by acting without wisdom, patience, or discernment. Some people speak too quickly, react emotionally, ignore correction, or make decisions without seeking God’s guidance.
But wisdom teaches us to slow down, observe carefully, and respond thoughtfully.
Wise living requires humility because teachable people continue learning. Pride often resists correction, while wisdom recognizes that growth often times requires adjustment.
Beloved, every decision carries influence. The words you speak, the relationships you build, the habits you practice, and the environments you entertain all shape your future gradually.
Wisdom helps you recognize what strengthens your life and what quietly weakens it.
Not every opportunity should be pursued. Not every opinion deserves your attention. Not every open door is necessarily aligned with God’s purpose for you.
This is why discernment matters.
God desires His people to walk wisely in relationships, finances, speech, time management, spiritual growth, and daily conduct. And wisdom protects His people from unnecessary harm, confusion, and regret.
A wise person is not perfect, but they are willing to learn, listen, and grow.
Do not make decisions carelessly simply because something feels urgent or emotionally appealing in the moment. Learn to seek God’s direction prayerfully and patiently. That is wisdom.
Wisdom often prevents problems that haste creates.

“Wisdom applies truth carefully in everyday life.”
“Discernment helps you recognize healthy and unhealthy influences.”
“Teachable people continue growing in understanding.”
“Careless decisions can create avoidable difficulties.”
Precious one, ask God for wisdom in every area of your life. Remain teachable, prayerful, and discerning. The decisions you make consistently today will influence the direction of your future tomorrow.
Wise living requires intentional choices.

PRAYER
Father, teach me to walk in wisdom and discernment daily. Help me make decisions carefully and remain sensitive to Your guidance. Deliver me from pride, carelessness, and unnecessary haste. Give me a teachable spirit and help me grow in understanding, maturity, and sound judgment in every area of my life. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
