TOPIC: ALIGNING WHAT YOU SEE
THEME SCRIPTURE “My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.” —Proverbs 23:26
PREPARATORY QUESTION
Why is it important for the child of God to observe the ways of the Lord?
Beloved, once your heart is surrendered, your attention must be aligned. The scripture does not stop at giving God your heart—it continues: let your eyes observe My ways. Surrender sets direction, but attention determines movement.
It is possible to belong to God and still be distracted in how you live. Your focus can drift toward pressure, comparison, or personal ambition, even while your heart desires to follow Him. This is why your attention must be trained.
To “observe” God’s ways means to study them with intention. It requires slowing down enough to notice how God works—His consistency, His patience, His priorities. You begin to measure your responses against His pattern, not your impulses.
Distraction is not always obvious. It often comes through what you repeatedly give your attention to—what you listen to, dwell on, and mentally rehearse. Over time, these influences shape your perception. If your attention is scattered, your discernment will weaken.
See, alignment requires choice. You must decide what deserves your focus. Not everything that demands your attention should receive it. When your attention is undisciplined, your actions will eventually reflect that disorder.
But when your eyes are fixed on God’s ways, something changes. Your decisions become more measured. Your reactions become more restrained. You begin to move with clarity, not confusion.
Know This:
- “What you focus on will shape how you follow.”
- “Attention is a reflection of alignment.”
- “You cannot follow what you do not intentionally observe.”
- “Distraction weakens discernment.”
- “Clarity grows where attention is disciplined.”
Beloved, disciplined attention aligns your life with God’s ways and strengthens your discernment. This is not about perfection—it is about direction. Where your attention consistently rests will determine how you walk.
Precious one, guard your focus. Train it. Bring it back when it drifts. What you observe today will shape who you become tomorrow.
God bless you more.
