TOPIC: LET GOD REFINE YOUR MOTIVE
THEME SCRIPTURE: “All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord.” — Proverbs 16:213
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS
Does God weighs our motives?
Beloved, as you continue in faithfulness—even through dry seasons—God begins to deal with something deeper than your actions: your motives.
It is possible to do the right things for the wrong reasons. To serve, give, obey, and endure—yet still be driven by pride, fear, approval, or habit. Outwardly, everything may look aligned. Inwardly, something remains unsettled.
God does not expose motives to condemn you, but to refine you. He is not only forming what you do, but why you do it.
Ask yourself: Are you obeying God to be seen, or because you trust Him? Are you consistent because you love Him, or because you fear falling short? Are you serving from surrender, or from a need to prove something?
These questions are not meant to discourage you—they are meant to bring clarity. Because unexamined motives can quietly redirect your life over time. What begins as genuine can become mechanical, or even self-centered, if left unchecked.
This is where honesty becomes essential. You do not need to hide your motives from God—He already sees them clearly. What He invites is your willingness to bring them into the light.
Let Him search you, precious one. Let Him correct what is misaligned. Let Him strip away what is mixed. This process may feel uncomfortable, but it leads to freedom—a life that is not only outwardly obedient, but inwardly sincere.

- “Right actions with wrong motives still misalign the heart.”
- “God is concerned with why you obey, not just that you obey.”
- “Hidden motives shape visible outcomes.”
- “Purity of heart is formed through honest surrender.”
Purity of motive does not happen instantly. It is formed as you repeatedly choose truth over image, surrender over control, and honesty over self-protection. Do not settle for a life that merely looks right. Allow God to make it true from the inside out.

PRAYER
Father, You see beyond my actions into my heart. I ask You to search me and reveal what is not aligned with You. Purify my motives and teach me to live with sincerity before You. Remove any desire to perform or prove, and replace it with a genuine love for You. Let my obedience flow from a heart that is fully surrendered. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
