TOPIC: WHEN YOUR OBEDIENCE MEETS RESISTANCE
THEME SCRIPTURE: “My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother” —1 Corinthians 16:13
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS
Do you struggle internally to obey the instructions of the Holy Spirit?
Beloved, once you begin to walk in obedience, you will notice something—resistance. It may come as internal struggle, external pressure, or quiet discouragement. Do not be surprised by it. What you have chosen must now be refined.
When the Israelites committed themselves to God, their journey did not suddenly become easy. In fact, obedience often led them into moments that required deeper trust. In the same way, your decision to follow God will be tested—not to destroy you, but to establish you.
Resistance exposes what still competes for your loyalty. It reveals where fear, comfort, pride, or habit still hold influence. This is not failure; it is clarity. What you do in these moments matters. You can either retreat into what is familiar, or press forward into what is forming you.
Do not interpret difficulty as a sign that you are on the wrong path. Sometimes it is confirmation that you are confronting what once controlled you. Growth rarely feels convenient. It demands that you respond differently where you once reacted automatically.
Beloved, stay attentive. The battle is often subtle—justifying small compromises, postponing obedience, or growing weary in doing what is right. These are not harmless; they shape direction wrongly over time.
You do not overcome resistance by willpower alone. You overcome by staying connected to God—returning to His Word, aligning your thoughts, and choosing obedience again, even when it feels costly. Strength is built in repetition.
Know This:
“Resistance often reveals where your surrender is still incomplete.”
“What feels difficult is not always wrong—sometimes it is necessary.”
“Spiritual growth is tested, not assumed.”
“God strengthens you in the places where you choose to stand, not where you choose to avoid.”
Remember, the goal is not to avoid struggle, but to remain faithful within it. Each time you choose God in the face of resistance, something within you becomes steadier, clearer, and more anchored. Today, choose to obey God even when the resistance is tough.
Remain blessed.

QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD:
1. Where am I currently experiencing resistance in my walk with God?
2. Am I interpreting difficulty as a warning to stop, or as an invitation to grow?
3. What would it look like to choose obedience in this specific area today?
PRAYER
Father, I see that following You does not remove resistance—it reveals it. Give me discernment to recognize what is shaping me, and strength to remain faithful when it is difficult. Help me not to retreat into comfort, but to stand firm in obedience. Form in me a steady heart that chooses You, even under pressure. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
